I am part of the Innovation & AI team at BKW Energie AG, where my role is to apply the latest advancements in AI to foster growth and innovation within the company. My expertise encompasses a range of AI disciplines, including forecasting, training and developing diffusion models, leveraging the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technique, and conducting sophisticated weather analysis.
I am an AI researcher who recently completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Università della Svizzera Italiana. My doctoral research focused on advancing optimization algorithms by integrating deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques. During my Ph.D., I served as a teaching assistant for the AI course led by Professor Luca Maria Gambardella, which allowed me to deepen my expertise in various AI topics—from classical search algorithms like Genetic Algorithms and Ant Colony Optimization to modern approaches in Reinforcement Learning. Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned a Master's degree in Data Science and a Bachelor's degree in Management Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma.
